Leaving Madison High School, I
joined the U.S. Marine Corps, serving in the Pacific. Working my
way through college as a firefighter, I graduated from the
University of Tennessee and the University of Memphis. I held
the position of Fire Chief at Arnold Engineering Development
Center (AEDC) near Tullahoma
Tennessee. Then after working for TVA nuclear, I was offered and
accepted a fire protection engineering position with
Westinghouse, Savannah River Site, a nuclear weapons plant,
near, Aiken, South Carolina. I married high school sweetheart
Anne Gayle Farley, a Litton girl. We recently celebrated our
50th wedding anniversary in Hawaii. Now retired, we live in
White House, Tennessee. We have two boys, both graduated from
Tennessee Tech as engineers.
