Comments: Cause today (1-1-14) was a holiday it was one of those rarities that me and the wife are off together, so today we headed down to see Gale Andrews ('71) and taking another classmate Pat Austin ('71) with us. This was my third visit with him and he continues to improve with each time that I see him. He is up to having 4 rounds of physical therapies and 1 round of speech therapy per day, but today was a holiday with no sessions. Gale was told that they were going to allow him to go to his brother's house on Christmas Day and be brought back at the day's end, but they changed their minds and he had to stay there over Christmas. He has been moved to room #106 and he is now back in possession of his cell phone. While there his cousin and niece came by and shortly thereafter lunch was going to be served. He thinks that he might have another 3 weeks to go before they release him.
Comments: I'm told that Gale Andrews ('71), Association President is leaps and bounds better than he was while in the hospital. His speech is much better, he can move his right side a bit better and he can move from wheel chair to bed with no help. He is in Bldg 116, Rm 111 at the VA in Murfreesboro, and he likes visitors.
Comments: Update on Gale Andrews - Gale will be taken to the VA Hospital in Murfreesboro this weekend to start rehab.

Comments: Madison alums Jerry, Roy, Jacqueline and Gary Jones lost their mother, Margaret to cancer this morning 11/20/13. Visitation will be at Woodlawn on Friday from 4-8pm, and continue on Saturday from 12:30 until services begin at 2:30pm. Please keep the Jones family, including their dad, George, in your prayers.
Comments: Gale Andrews, class of 1971 and President of the Association suffered a stroke on Wednesday, the 13th and was taken to Skyline Hospital. He suffered a brain aneurysm and was paralyzed on his right side. Gale had been responding and looked fine up until Friday. He shut down like he went into a coma and is now on a feeding tube. Doctors say patients can come out of this--sometimes it's the body shutting down to heal. We wish the best for Gale and his family.
