George "Andy" Callis. Age 81, of Antioch, TN died January 10, 2021, in Nashville, TN. Born on April 22, 1939 in Nashville TN, he was the son of the late George Hatcher Callis, Jr. and Ruth Jenkins Callis. He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Carla Yvonne Callis; sons, George Hatcher Callis IV (Penny) of Rural Hill TN and Devin Andrew Callis of Oak Grove TN; sister, Gayle Jannette Callis Carver (Don) Madison TN; and brother, Captain Lloyd Baker Jenkins Callis USN, Ret. (Betty) of Hendersonville TN. After graduating in 1957 from Madison High School, George enlisted in the U.S. Army Reserve in 1957 and after completing his reserve obligation in 1963, he continued his work in the printing industry as a linotype operator for Curly Printing Company. Later he was employed by Ambrose Printing Company and became affiliated with Ingram Book Company, and Robert J Young. Subsequently, he operated his own printing business specializing in typesetting, layout, and design as A&E Printing Company of Nashville. He loved his two pups, Sydney and Sadie, who were his loyal companions. His love of the outdoors and the ocean found George and family on numerous trips to the Gulf Coast. Water sports, boating and enjoying time with family and friends was his favorite pass time. Due to the public health emergency, a celebration of life will be scheduled later this summer, pending any other unforeseen circumstances.
