Obituary

Leslie "Les" Alan Cammuse, age 59 of Hermitage, went to be with the Lord peacefully surrounded by his family at home on July 16, 2017 after a short illness. He was the son of Edward T. Cammuse and Lura Ann Morgan Cammuse. Les graduated from Madison High School in 1976. He attended Volunteer State Community College and earned a degree in marketing from the University of Tennessee. During high school and college, Les worked at Opryland USA theme park in the food and beverage department where he met the "candy cart girl," Margaret Dickson Cammuse, his wife of 33 years. After graduation, he worked in sales for Thorn Apple Valley and Selecto Meats before starting a lawn care business with his son for 26 years. He loved the beach, NASCAR racing, traveling, attending MLB Spring Training camps, and singing in the choir at his former church, Hermitage Hills Baptist Church, Hermitage, TN; and current church, Victory Baptist Church, Mount Juliet, TN. In the last two years, he had learned the joy of being Poppa Moose to his grandson, Carson. Les is preceded in death by his father, Edward T. Cammuse. He is survived by his loving wife, Margaret Dickson Cammuse; son, Douglas Alan (Holly Scott) Cammuse; grandson, Carson Beckett Cammuse, and mother, Lura Ann Morgan Cammuse. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at Hermitage Funeral Home from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm, and also on Thursday, July 20, 2017 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm. The Celebration of Life Service will be Thursday, July 20, 2017 at Hermitage Funeral Home at 2:00 pm with Bro. Chuck Groover and Rev. John F. Brandon officiating. Interment will follow at Hermitage Memorial Gardens with Rev. John Thomerson officiating. Serving as pallbearers are Douglas and Carson Cammuse, Scott Deathridge, Charlie Fox, Forrest Melton, Ray Render, and Mark Summers. The Cammuse family wishes to thank Dr. Laura Blakely and staff at Tennessee Oncology and family friends; Dr. Deborah K. Morrison, Frederick, MD; Dr. Mark Fortini, Philadelphia, PA; and Dr. Eric Liu, Denver, CO. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Building Fund at Victory Baptist Church, 1777 Tate Lane, Mount Juliet, TN 37122.
