Obituary

Rev. Robert "Bobby" Earl Cox, age 73, of Gallatin, went home to be with Christ on Sunday, August 15, 2021. He was born in Nashville, TN to the late William and Lena Allie Cox. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, William “Billy” Cox and Carl Cox. Bobby is survived by his devoted wife of 27 years, Lois Cox; sister, Shirley (Carl) Butterworth; children, Monique Nix, Joshua (Jennifer) Cox, Patty Kennedy, Mark Long, Mike (Tammi) Long and Scott (Charlsey) Long; grandchildren, Chelsey Nix, Julianna Neal, Jaden Cox, Jacob Cox, Jordan Cox, Terry (Jessie) James, Mark (Julia) Long Jr., Amber (Brian) Kozarich, Ashley Long, Jacob Long, Hope Long, Faith Long and Charity Long; as well as many great-grand children, nieces, nephews, extended family and of course his beloved dog, Gracie. Bobby was raised in Madison, TN. As a young man he chose to serve his country by enlisting in the Navy. At the age of 28 he gave his heart to Jesus. He was a devout Christian who always gave the glory to God. He pastored churches in Cumberland City, TN and in Paris, TN. After retiring from pastoring he and Lois moved to Gallatin where they could be closer to their family, as well as continue to serve in many ministry capacities at his home church MTPCG, and also Christian Towers. Bobby loved teaching the Word of God, Fox News, watching sports, muscle cars, spending time with his friends & family, and most of all serving the Lord. Bobby’s Celebration of Life will be held at Miracle Temple Church, 1335 Plum St, Madison, TN on Saturday, August 21, 2021 at 11:00am, with his son Rev. Scott Long and his long time friend Rev. Jerry Moore officiating. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations to be made to Miracle Temple Church.
