Obituary

DEEP, William Michael, Passed away July 24, 2009. He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and employed by CSX Railroad as terminal superintendent in Louisville. Mike grew up in Madison, Tennessee, graduating from Madison High School in 1974, and then earning a bachelor degree in public administration from UT Knoxville. Beginning his career with the railroad in Nashville, he quickly advanced with positions in Waycross, GA, Erwin, TN and into his current position in Louisville. His dedication and passion for the railroad was evident, but his passion for life is what will always be remembered. Mike was active in his church and civic clubs, and devoted to his family. An avid golfer and sports lover, Mike also coached his children's soccer, basketball, baseball, and softball teams over the years, and was a loyal UT Volunteer fan. Preceded in death by parents, Farris and Ruby Deep, he is survived by his wife of 20 years Pam; children, Alexa, Emily and Elliot; sisters, Ellen (Buddy) Wright, Ann (Jim) Crawford, Kris (Jeff) Matz; brothers, Louis (Sue) Deep, Norman (Teresa) Deep, and Kelly (Tamara) Deep; several nieces and nephews; special loved-ones, Josephine Carter, David Carr, and many other special friends. Visitation will be at Cole & Garrett Funeral Home Monday from 1-7 p.m., with a Rosary service at 6 p.m. Funeral Mass will be Tuesday July 28, at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 1225 So. Gallatin Road, Madison, TN 37115. Visitation one hour prior to service time at the church. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Goodlettsville, TN. A memorial service is also planned in Louisville at St. Patrick Church, 1000 Beckley Station Rd., 40245 on Saturday, August 15, at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that anyone wishing to honor Mike send a special photo, story, or memory to the Deep family, or make a donation to The Michael Quinlan Brain Tumor Foundation, Gilda's Club, Hosparus of Louisville, St. Jude's Children's Hospital, or St. Patrick Church or School.
