Edward Earl DeWerff, age 63, passed away peacefully in his sleep on June 17, 2023 in the comfort of his home. He was a proud resident of the Clarksville, TN community. Edward was born on September 13th, 1959, in Nashville, Tennessee to Dale Lee DeWerff and Mary Alice Elder. He graduated with his law degree from The University of Tennessee Knoxville, and went on to have a successful career as a criminal defense attorney in Clarksville, TN. Edward is survived by his beloved daughter, Sydney Nicole DeWerff, his 3 brothers: Scott, David, and Robert, and numerous others. Those fortunate enough to know Ed knew that his presence was larger than life. Whether in the courthouse, ordering food, or a conversation with friends; it was natural for him to light up a room with his witty humor and positive attitude. When Edward was not in the courthouse, he enjoyed traveling to New Orleans with his daughter, where they would listen to live jazz music, eat beignets, and enjoy each other's company. He was devoted to charitable acts, often giving to those in need in whatever capacity he deemed necessary. He enjoyed fishing, watching movies, volunteering at homeless shelters, working out, and playing with his dogs. There are currently no public services scheduled at this time.
