GRAMMER, VAL DARWIN, age 58, born November 28, 1954, passed away June 30, 2013. Preceded in death by grandparents, Delmas M. Grammer, Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Grammer; Grady Nix and Mildred Nix; father, Delmas Melvin Grammer, Jr.; brother, Jeffrey Todd Grammer, Sr. Survived by Glenda Allen Grammer, wife of twenty years, mother, Mildred Ann Nix Grammer; step son, Ben Rains; nephew, Jeffrey Todd (Emily) Grammer, Jr., Steven Blake Grammer, great nephew, Todd Reeves Grammer; great niece, Vicki Jo Grammer; uncles, Paul Dennis Grammer , Rip (Ira) Nix; aunt, Frances Dean Baker; cousins, Melanie Sue Grammer, Roger K. Grammer, Mike Baker, Wade Baker; sister-in-law, Gayle Allen (Ron) Davis, Sandra Allen (Skip) Mason; nephews, Justin Mason, Brant Mason, Will Davis; niece, Lendy Mason. He was a graduate of Madison High School and attended Austin Peay State University. Under the tutelage of his grandfather Nix at G. L. Nix & Son Garage, he became an expert mechanic and spent most of his life under the hood of anything that had an engine, marine in particular. He was a tour bus driver for some of the biggest names in the music industry and invented and patented the Fulkrum Hitch. Visitation with the family at Madison Funeral Home, Tuesday, 2 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday 12 to 1 p.m. Service to follow at 1:30. Interment at Spring Hill Cemetery.
