James Edward Gray Sr., age 63, departed this life in Shelbyville, Tennessee on Thursday, July 3, 2014 at the home of his brother Richard (Linda Melson) Gray after an extended illness. He was born January 18, 1951 in Davidson County, Tennessee to the late Harry Lewis Gray and the late Earline Dickens Gray. He was an accomplished paint and auto body technician who restored many old cars during his lifetime. He is survived by his wife, Donna Gillman Gray of Shelbyville, daughter Patricia (Aaron) Pitts of Wewahitchka, Florida, son James Edward Gray Jr. of Scottsboro, Alabama, grandsons Timothy and Cory Staten and great granddaughter Brinley. Also surviving are his stepson Brooks (Tara) Tutor of Hartford, Alabama and stepdaughter Brandy (John) Scoggins of Headland, Alabama, and five step-grandchildren. Graveside services with Military Honors will be held on Monday, July 7, 2014 at 12:00 Noon in Willow Mount Cemetery in Shelbyville with Pastor Ernie Gray officiating.
