Jerry W. Guy, age 67 of Monroe, Georgia passed
away on Sunday, April 16, 2017 surrounded by his family. Jerry was a
veteran of the United States Army and served during Vietnam. After
leaving the Army, Jerry went on to earn a bachelor's degree in
Business Administration from Georgia State University in December of
1976. From there he earned his Certified Public Accountant
certificate from the state of Georgia in March of 1979. He was also
a member of The Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants and
The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He went on
to own his own landscape company by the age of 29. He eventually
opened up landscape stores where he would sell trees from his own
tree farm. He continued to work in a business that he loved with the
perseverance and tenacity that was admired by many. He touched many
lives and was deeply loved. He is survived by his wife of 49 years,
Brenda Guy of Monroe, his daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and
James Morris of Monroe, son and daughter-in-law, Christopher and
Jennifer Guy of Monroe. Grandchildren: Ella Rae Morris, Luca William
Morris, and Jackson Wyatt Guy. Siblings: Jeff and Kathy Guy of
Lawrenceville, Troy and Connie Wakefield of Lawrenceville. Brenda
and Jerry Brown of Portland, TN, Michael Wakefield of Nashville, TN,
Paula Perry of Winston, and Jan Guy Smith and Mark Smith of
Thomaston. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to
be made to: Pruitt Cares Foundation 1751 Meriweather Dr.
Watkinsville, GA 30677. Please place Jerry Guy's name on any check
