Bruce D. Hertz 69 of Nokomis passed away Sunday August 14, 2016 in Memorial Medical Center, Springfield, Illinois after a struggle with ALS. Bruce the son of the late Harold and Nada Jackson Hertz was born February 19, 1947 in Madison, Tennessee. He married Marge Henson and they divorced. He married Diana Sanders Beaty December 30, 1982, she passed July 27, 2010. Bruce is the former owner of The Town Pump Bowl in Nokomis, former owner of Diana's Supper Club in Nokomis and most recently was general manager of the International Hotel Group. He is survived by children Greg (Lisa) Beaty, Jake(Katina) Beaty and Jack Beaty all of Nokomis, grandchildren Paige, Abby, Michael, Damen, Karlee, Kara, Masen, Allie, Parker, little Jake & Donovan, great grandchildren Nolan and Riley Beaty. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and brother Claude Hertz. Bruce attend Clemson College for two years, was a Mason, Shriner and member of the NRA. He had a great love of Corvettes and working on drag race cars. Funeral mass will be held Saturday, August 20, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Louis Catholic Church, Nokomis, Illinois with Father Dan Willenborg officiating, burial will be in Nokomis Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Stiehl-Dawson Funeral Home from 5 to 8 Friday evening. Memorials suggested to Nokomis High School athletics.
