Obituary

Claude M. Hertz, 335 E. Bertolino, died at 4:50 p.m., Wednesday January 12, 1994, in Pana Community Hospital as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was a registered electrical engineer and vice-president of engineering for Ronk Electrical Industries, Nokomis. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Saturday, January 15 in St. Louis Catholic Church, Nokomis. Fr. John Burnett, Fr. Bob Porter and Fr. Don Sederwall officiated. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery, Nokomis. Masonic rites were held 8:00 p.m., January 14, 1994 at Stiehl-Dawson Funeral Home, Nokomis. Hertz was born May 8, 1943 in Birmingham, Alabama, a son of Harold M. and Nada J. Hertz. He was a graduate of Purdue University with a BSEE and MBA. He moved to Nokomis in 1971 from West Lafayette, Indiana. Hertz married Delores Fleming September 2, 1988 in Tuscon, Arizona. he was a member of Nokomis A.F. & A.M. Lodge 456, Valley of Springfield Scottish Rite, Ansar Shrine, Pana Elks Lodge 1261, American Society of Agriculture Engineers, Institute of Electrical and Electron Engineers, National Electrical Code Committee of NFPA, International Association of Electrical Inspectors. He was also active in numerous automobile clubs and associations. He is survived by his wife; mother. Nada Hertz of Nashville; and brother; Bruce Hertz of Nokomis.
