Obituary

Billy Hugh Howell Jr., age 72 of Goodlettsville, TN passed away May 2, 2021 in Goodlettsville, TN. He was born in Nashville, TN on December 15, 1948. Mr. Howell was a 3rd generation real estate agent and auctioneer, operating the family business established in 1938. He also worked as a bus driver for musicians and had a passion for driving a bus for 50 years. A graduate of the Madison High School Class of 1967, he graduated from Belmont University in 1971. He served in the National Guard and was Past President of the Middle Tennessee Auctioneers Association. He was a member of the Auctioneers Hall of Fame, a 50-year member of Madison Masonic Lodge #72, a member of the Scottish Rite and a member of Al Menah Shrine and Motor Corp. Mr. Howell was preceded in death by his father, Billy Hugh Howell Sr. He is survived by his mother, Juanita Howell; wife, Trish Howell; brother, Gwynn (Donna) Howell; children, Billy Hugh (Becky) Howell III, Robert Travis (Deanna) Howell, Sara (Ryan) Fischer, and Dustin Stewart; grandchildren, Billy Hugh Howell IV, Robert Cooper Howell, Robert Brooks Howell, Lincoln Cole Howell, Anna McLaine Howell, Rylee Nelson and Baby Girl Fischer due in August. A celebration of Mr. Howell’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, May 6, 2021 at City Road Chapel UMC with Jay Voorhees officiating. Billy Hugh Howell IV, Ryan Fischer, Zach Howell, Chris Gentry, Chris Carter, Joey Willis, Jay Boy and Eric Blankenship will serve as pallbearers. Roger Perry, Jay Jackson, Gerry McMahon, Eddie Cope, Gary Scruggs, Jerry Armour, Bob Bell, and Johnny Meredith will act as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. followed by a Masonic Service at Phillips-Robinson Funeral Home and from until 12:00 p.m. until the time of service on Thursday at the church. The family requests that memorial donations be made to Shriner’s Hospital for Children and Alive Hospice.
