Obituary

Jackie Lee McCrary, 65, of Madison, Tennessee passed away Tuesday, November 19, 2019 at his home. Jackie was born January 1, 1954 in Madison, Tennessee to the late Lloyd McCrary and Sara “Betty” Cammuse McCrary. Jackie was a supervisor for Odom’s Tennessee Pride for 31 years, and Wei Chan’s for 12 years. He was also a farmer raising cattle and taking care of almost everyone’s hay on Neely’s Bend. He served his community raising funds for Madison Little League, The Ronald McDonald House and Vanderbilt University Children’s Hospital. Mr. McCrary was also on the board of directors at the Davidson Farmers Co-Op. He was a member of McFerrin Missionary Baptist Church, Madison Kiwanis Club, and the Jay Cee’s. He loved camping, fishing, barbecuing and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Donna McCrary; sons Jackie (Rachel) McCrary, and Jason (Veronica) McCrary; daughter Misti (Jason) Jefcoat; brothers Larry (Hope) McCrary, and Gene (Carol) McCrary; sisters Sherry (Jeff) Kingsbury, and Debbie (Kent) Collier; grandchildren Anna Grace Jefcoat, Houston Jefcoat, Mason McCrary, Gavin Culwell, and Adison Moore; his dog, Gladys; a host of nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Sunday, November 24 from 1 PM until 8 PM at Spring Hill Funeral Home in Nashville. A Celebration of Life Funeral Service officiated by Brother Kent Collier will take place 2 PM Monday, November 25 at the funeral home with the family receiving friends 2 hours prior to services. Burial will follow in the Historic Spring Hill Cemetery in Nashville. The family would like to extend special thanks to Amedisys Hospice and nurse Nancy Willis, and Jackie’s childhood friend Ronnie Keith and his wife Mary. Pallbearers will be Justin Collier, Blake Collier, Bubba Burrow, Billy Joe McCrary, Shane Turnage, and Todd Poteete.
