Linda Miller Towe of Hendersonville, TN went to be with the
Lord on Sunday, February 11, 2018. Linda was born November 18, 1940
in Madison, TN to the late David Rhea and Reu Elma Miller. Linda
graduated from Madison High School in 1958 and went on to complete
her education at Belmont University where she was honored as
Homecoming Queen, and Murray State University, where she graduated
with her Master's in Music Education. Linda had a lifelong passion
for educating young people and for music. She was the choral
director at Hendersonville High School where her students received
many awards and distinguished honors. Among many other
accomplishments, she was very involved with the church choir for
over 40 years at First Baptist Church Hendersonville, and prior to
that at First Baptist Church downtown Nashville. She lent her voice
for numerous recordings for the Baptist Sunday School Board and was
also a member of the Nashville Chorale. Linda never met a stranger
and loved talking to EVERYONE! In her spare time, she enjoyed
frequent travel stateside and abroad. She often took students and
family on these once in a lifetime trips. She was a passionate
musician with perfect pitch and truly loved to sing. She was a
servant of God who loved her family unconditionally, as well as her
students and her friends. She will truly be missed by all who were
blessed to know her. Surviving are her son, Chris (Trish) Henson and
their children, Chris, Caroline and Clayton; daughter, Angela (David
Owen) Henson. Also surviving are Duke Towe, Derek (Anita) Towe, Troy
(Michelle) Towe, Tonya (Arne) Irwin and the sum of all of their 8
children and 1 grandchild. Linda was preceded in death by her loving
husband of 35 years, Bill Towe and her brother, Billy Rhea Miller.
Family will receive friends and loved ones on Thursday, February 15,
2018 from 4-7pm at Hendersonville Funeral Home (353 E. Main St;
Hendersonville, TN 37075) and again on Friday (2/16) from 10-11am at
the First Baptist Church Hendersonville, where funeral services will
follow at 11:00am. Burial will follow at Hendersonville Memory
Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hendersonville
High School Chorus Department or the First Baptist Church
Hendersonville Music Department.
