Michael Lee Murphy (Murf the Surf) Gallatin, TN -- Age 52 died Tuesday, August 12, 2003. Graveside Memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2003 at 1 p.m., from the Gallatin Cemetery, with Pastor Derrick Jackson officiating. Michael was born in Nashville, TN on January 3rd, 1951, son of the late James Arthur Murphy. In Addition to his father, Michael is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Dona and Asa Meador; paternal grandparents, Arthur and Maggie Lee Murphy and nephew, James Robert Levy, Jr.. He is survived by his mother, Pauline Meador Murphy of Gallatin; a brother, James Robert Levy of Gallatin; sisters, Sandra (David) Murphy McBride of Gallatin, Candice Lee Burns of CA; two nephews, three great-nieces, two great-nephews and many other family members and friends. Michael was friends with and worked for the late Roy Orbison. Michael was a graduate of Madison High School and Austin Peay University.
