Obituary

William Scott “Scotty” Norman, age 75, passed away on Monday, September 11, 2023. Scotty was born on December 6, 1947, in Nashville, Tennessee to Maurice and Evelyn (Parsons) Norman. Scotty was a true outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, cooking, canning, and processing meat. It was always a favorite of Scotty’s to share the vegetables from the garden and meat from Norman Farms with his family and friends. Scotty worked for over 45 years as a stockbroker and financial advisor building longtime relationships with clients who became some of his dearest friends. Over the years, Norman Farms provided fresh fruits and produce to the surrounding areas throughout the year including the month October known as Pumpkin Junction with all things fall. The sharing continued yearly as he opened the farm to the Boy’s and Girl’s Club of Nashville, hosting a fishing day to children who otherwise may have never experienced holding a fishing pole and catching their first fish. This annual event created many treasured memories not just for the children, but also to all that participated. Scotty was also an avid golfer and traveler. He was a member of the Bluegrass Yacht and Country Club, a graduate of Hendersonville High School and the University of Tennessee. Scotty is preceded in death by his wife Marianne Norman and his parents Maurice and Evelyn Norman. He is survived by his children Brett Norman, Aimee Vandemark, Joshua Norman, and Meghan Weatherly. In addition, he is survived by his grandchildren Clara, Scott, Henry, Mabel, James, and Luella; along with his sister Susie Sloan. A Celebration of Life gathering will be held on Thursday, September 14, 2023, from 5pm-7pm at Hendersonville Funeral Home. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Boy’s and Girl’s Club of Nashville in Scotty’s name. https://bgcmt.org/donate
