Barbara Jane Pitt age 67 of Old Hickory passed away Sunday, November 7, 2021 at North Crest Medical Center. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, November 10th, 2021 at Austin & Bell Funeral Home Greenbrier with Pastor William Little officiating. Burial will follow in Greenbrier Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends 4pm to 8pm Tuesday, November 9th and 10am until time of service on Wednesday at the funeral home. She was born in Madison, TN on December 1, 1953 to the late William Clyde Pitt, Jr. and Thelma Wetmore Pitt. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Shawana Thaxton. She was a Caregiver in the Health Care Industry and a member of Cross Plains Seventh Day Adventist Church. She enjoyed watching westerns on TV and an occasional soap opera. She is survived by her mother, Thelma Wetmore Pitt of Greenbrier; sons, Dwayne (Brandy) Thaxton of Greenbrier, Phillip (Kelly) Alred of Adolphus, KY; brother, Billy (Jennie) Pitt of Madison, TN; sister, Penny (Greg) Simpson of Huntsville, AL; grandchildren, Shawna Thaxton, Katie Thaxton, Ethan Alred, Ashlyn Alred, Jaxon Mayberry and one great-grandchild on the way.
