Obituary

POLLARD, Elisabeth Hardy Hendersonville, TN -- Age 93 Mrs. Pollard passed away quietly on Friday, April 16, 2004 at her residence in the presence of her family. She was a Member of First Church of the Nazarene in Nashville. She graduated from Peabody College and received her Masters +40 from MTSU. She started teaching in public schools at the age of nineteen. She taught and served as a Guidance Counselor at Madison High School and retired from the Metro Public School System at the age of 66. She was a Member of the National Education Association, Tennessee Retired Teachers Association, Metro Nashville Retired Teachers Association and The National Association of University Women. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. C.E. Hardy and Mayme Crain Hardy; her husband of 56 years, Ewell Pollard; brothers, Edward and Dan Hardy; sister, Lois Hardy Warren. Survived by her daughter and son-in-Law, Marila and Bill Fuqua; grandchildren, Laura (Lee) Greengrass, Beth (Jimmy) Isbell and Chip (Victoria) Fuqua; great grandchildren, Christian and Elissa Greengrass, Maegan and Kimberly Isbell and Wilson Fuqua; brother, Chester E. Hardy Jr.; sister, Jean Hardy Russell; cousin, Elanor Burros; many beloved nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Tuesday, April 20, 2004 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Cole and Garrett Funeral Home in Hendersonville. Funeral services are 2 p.m., Wednesday, April 21, 2004 at the Cole and Garrett Funeral Home Chapel. Dr. Millard Reed will be officiating. Family and Friends will serve as Pallbearers.
