Obituary

Brian Todd Poteete, age 53 of Madison, Tennessee passed away on Tuesday, November 2, 2021. He was born in Nashville, Tennessee on March 25, 1968 to Robert and Jerry Poteete. He is preceded in death by his father Robert Poteete, brother Keith Poteete, grandmother Mary Pearl, paternal grandparents Lex and Ollie Mae Poteete, and the mother of his children Laura Poteete. He is survived by his mother Jerry Poteete, children Cassie Hunt (Glenn), Brian Poteete, and Presley Poteete (Seth Davis); sister Karen Hargrove (David), granddaughter Sutton Davis, one grandson on the way, and a host of extended family and dear friends. Todd was a loving, dependable man, with a heart of gold. He loved cars, loud rock music, and going fast, but the very most important thing in the world to him was his family. He was a wonderful dad, a loving Poppy, and the best kind of Mama’s Boy. He worked on heavy machinery for a living, but in his free time he still loved to “piddle” with fixing things around the house and working on cars. Todd also had a great sense of humor. He was quick witted, and often was funny without even trying to be. Todd was well loved and will be missed deeply by all who knew him. A visitation will be held on Sunday, November 7 at Spring Hill Funeral Home from 4-8pm. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, November 8 at 2pm, with the family receiving visitors two hours prior. Burial will follow in Historic Spring Hill Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Brian Poteete, Glenn Hunt, Seth Davis, Tommy Nichols, Gene McCrary, and Blake Olson. Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Davis and Howard Henley. Out of respect for the family, the Poteete family requests that anyone in attendance please wear a mask and practice social distancing at the funeral home. Spring Hill Funeral Home has been entrusted with the final care of Mr. Poteete. 5110 Gallatin Road, Nashville, Tennessee 37216. (615) 865-1101. “Where Nashville Comes to Remember.”
