Judy Silvers Roberts, age 73, of Hendersonville, TN, passed away on May 20, 2016. She is preceded in death by her father S.C. Silvers, Jr. She is survived by her mother, Mary Silvers; son, John Roberts; brother Chester (Winifred) Silvers; sister Laura (Johnny) Smith, nephews, nieces and her former husband, Larry Roberts. Judy earned her Bachelor's degree and her Master's degree in education from Middle Tennessee State University. She taught at Goodlettsville High School and then Hunters Lane High School until her retirement from Metropolitan Nashville Schools. Following her retirement, Judy went on to teach at Davidson Academy for nearly 20 years. In addition to her other degrees, she also earned her Juris Doctorate from the YMCA Night Law School (now Nashville School of Law) and became licensed as an attorney in 1980 and remained a member of the firm Roberts, Thornton and Pence until the time of her death. Visitation will be held Thursday, May 26, 2016 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. with a memorial service to follow at 6:00 p.m. at Goodlettsville Cumberland Presbyterian Church located at 226 S. Main St, Goodlettsville, TN 37072. If preferred, donations can be made to Davidson Academy in lieu of flowers.
