WELCH,
JR., Newton Gentry Age 68 of Goodlettsville, TN, passed away Sunday,
October 21, 2012. Mr. Welch was born in Nashville, TN on September
19, 1944 to Newton G. Sr. and Pauline Welch. He was owner of
Electric Service Inc., Industrial Sales Co., Inc. and Memories of
the Eye Photography. He also served as manager of Newton Motor Co.
He served as president and secretary of the Middle Tennessee
Industrial Distributors Association. He was a member of St. Luke
Cumberland Presbyterian Church, an ordained minister of the Nazarene
Church. He served as a deacon and elder in the Presbyterian Church,
and enjoyed singing, dancing and performing. He was also a member of
the Amalgamated Order of the Red Bearded Santas. He was a family man
and enjoyed working and photography. He was preceded in death by his
parents. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Kathleen Welch;
son, Newton G. (Mary Kendall) Welch III; daughters, Jennifer Eklond
and Laura Ashley (Judson) Pyatt; grandchildren, Newton G. IV and
Natalie G. Welch, Jonathan and Jenna Kathryn Eklond, Lilly and
Lincoln Pyatt; sister, Lois (Lanny) McGowan; and mother-in-law,
Genevieve D. Lish. A celebration of Mr. Welch's life will be
conducted at 4 p.m. Wednesday, October 24, 2012 from the Chapel of
Spring Hill Funeral Home, with Rev. Don Winn and Rev. Dwayne Tyus
officiating. Ronnie Harbison, Odie Foxall, Jack Ludy, Chuck
Williams, Brian Dunlap, Charles Jewell, John Allen and Robert
Parrish will serve as Pallbearers. The family will receive friends
from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, October 23, 2012 and from 2
p.m. until 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday, prior to the service at Spring
Hill Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be
